The Hierophant

sachavonkarl74 Underrated and very talented Polish act, not quite the traditional Norwegian black metal but more melodic and with death metal influences as well, but very worth its present in your BC collection if you like melodic black metal such as Dissection and (very) early Emperor! Favorite track: Let There Be Darkness.

Ippocalyptica Ah, yes, The Hierophant - though I have listened to this many times over the years, I only just now did the right thing and bought it. While nowhere near as revelatory and stunning as Blaze of Perdition’s next two albums, the band shed most of their obvious influences here and really carved out their template of melodic and weaving - and muscular - black metal. A strong album in its own right, I like this because it shows the evolution towards the life-altering Near Death Revelations!
